Reinecke + Pohl Sun Energy AG: Rooftop photovoltaic system inaugurated by environment minister in North Rhine-Westphalia

Corporate news transmitted by DGAP – a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Hamburg/Gescher, 22 August 2006. The photovoltaic system of the waste management enterprise ”Entsorgungs-Gesellschaft Westmünsterland (EGW)” was inaugurated by Eckhard Uhlenburg, environment minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, in Gescher in the district of Borken on 18 August 2006. With 23,430 modules on a total area of approximately 17,000 square meters and an investment volume of EUR 5.6 million the new photovoltaic installation currently is one of the worldwide largest rooftop photovoltaic installations constructed of thin film modules. These modules are especially suitable for the application in larger projects, as they are comparatively low-priced and thus allow for a rather high return on investment. With a rating of 1.2 million kilowatt hours the installation meets the power consumption of around 300 four-person households. At the same time it contributes effectively to the climate protection with a CO2 saving of 857 tons per year or on the average 2,4 tons a day. After the reception Thomas Holzschneider, director of EGW, welcomed the 60 invited guests, followed by the greetings of Gerd Wiesemann, district administrator of the district of Borken and member of the supervisory board of EGW, and Eckhard Uhlenberg, environment minister of North Rhine-Westphalia. “Considering that the power generation of all the photovoltaic systems that were installed in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2004 is estimated to amount to 70 million kilowatt hours, the dimension of this new system with more than 1 million kilowatt hours is really evident”, Minister Uhlenberg points out in his speech. Afterwards the guests had the possibility to take a bird’s eye view on the photovoltaic system from a lifting platform. A tour around the sight gave an impression of the consequent use of renewable energies by EGW: Besides the new photovoltaic installation several systems for the usage of biogas from sewage sludge and of wind energy are already in operation. Nastro-Umwelttechnik GmbH was in charge of the planning of the construction and the installation of the photovoltaic system. “We are proud that with this major project we had the possibility to contribute to this impressive installation with our experience and our know-how”, says a pleased Mr. Schulz-Colmant, speaker of the managing board of Reinecke + Pohl Sun Energy AG. Reinecke + Pohl Sun Energy Group is one of the leading manufacturer independent system providers in the photovoltaic sector. Its subsidiaries, Nastro-Umwelttechnik GmbH and Maaß Regenerative Energien GmbH, plan and design turnkey solar power plants for institutional and private investors at home and abroad. The company was founded in 2005 and is listed in the Prime Standard of the German Stock Exchange. For further information and picture documentation please go to www.egw.de or www.rpse.de.
