ARQUES takes over technical service provider, BEA TDL, from the Röchling Group

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— ARQUES takes over technical service provider, BEA TDL, from the Röchling Group Already the eleventh ARQUES acquisition in 2006 Starnberg, November 13, 2006 – The Starnberg-based equity investment company, ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004), has taken over all shares in BEA Elektrotechnik und Automation Technische Dienste Lausitz GmbH (BEA TDL) with effect November 11, 2006. Seller is BEA Holding AG, a full subsidiary of Gebr. Röchling KG, who thereby concentrates on plastics, its core business. BEA TDL develops and constructs electro-technical plants and automation solutions for conveyor technology and energy technology primarily for open brown coal mining. The technical service provider has established itself within the core range of energy infrastructure as a partner of renowned large-scale enterprises and has been operating profitably for years. BEA TDL generated revenues to the value of approximately EUR 50 million with more than 350 employees. A property necessary for operation in Spremberg-Schwarze Pumpe belongs to the company. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. BEA TDL is already the eleventh ARQUES acquisition in the financial year 2006. The Starnberg-based equity investment company already announced in September that the goal of one billion Euro annualised group revenues for the entire year will be significantly exceeded. BEA TDL, which operates internationally, is active in the growth markets of opencast mining plants for brown coal production, energy production and distribution as well as water and environmental technology. The company’s long-standing customers include large mining enterprises, energy providers and mechanical engineering enterprises such as Vattenfall, RWE, MIBRAG, Takraf and FAM. With subsidiaries in Poland and Bulgaria, BEA TDL is active in the growing brown coal market in Eastern Europe. With more than 75 highly qualified engineers, BEA TDL develops innovative solutions in the electro-technical and automation areas. Simultaneously the company, with more than 250 atrisans, is present on site as technical service provider for the assembly and maintenance of the plants. BEA TDL has a wide product range: In the area of opencast brown coal mining, the company develops and constructs high quality electro-technical plants and automation solutions for conveyor technology which is applied, for example, to large conveyor equipment such as bucket-wheel excavators. The business segment water technology is characterised by industrial process automation as well as by highly technological plant construction. In this range, BEA TDL offers its customers solutions for opencast mining drainage, water conduits as well as water and sewage solutions. In the energy technology and environmental technology, BEA TDL also specialises in automation, visualisation of working processes as well as the visualisation of electronic and control technology. In addition, the company offers technical services such as maintenance, repairs and breakdown services on site.
