MPC Capital acquires 29.5% of HCI Capital AG

Hamburg, January 17, 2007 – MPC Capital AG has signed the purchase of
7,080,000 shares of HCI Capital AG from HCI SICAR A.G. (Luxemburg). The
contract was signed tonight. The transaction is under restriction of the
approval of the Supervisory Board of MPC Capital AG. The purchase price per
share represents a discount on the closing share price (XETRA) of EUR 15,85
on January 17, 2007. MPC Capital AG regards the transaction as an
attractive financial investment.
