Press release

United Internet and Samwer brothers to invest together in future

Montabaur, June 25, 2007. United Internet AG and the Samwer brothers’
'European Founders Fund (EFF)', Germany’s leading early-phase investor for
European internet and technology companies, are to invest increasingly
together in future. In this way, the competencies of both partners can be
pooled for the good of the founders.

The European Founders Fund, formed by German internet entrepreneurs
Alexander, Marc and Oliver Samwer (founders of such companies as alando /
eBay Germany, Jamba and investors in Studivz, LinkedIn etc.), regards
itself as the 'founder behind the founders'. As Oliver Samwer explains:
'The companies we invest in profit directly from our experience in
establishing companies like alando (now eBay Germany) and Jamba. We can
therefore lay the foundation as partners for fast and sustainable growth.'

The partnership with United Internet AG now aims to provide company
founders with additional opportunities for optimal customer access and
professional marketing, enabling fast and successful growth. With
high-reach portals, such as WEB.DE (11.3 million unique visitors/month),
GMX (7.6 million) and 1&1 (3.0 million), as well as over 6.6 million
fee-based customer contracts, United Internet is one of Europe’s leading
internet companies. 'With the aid of our high-reach portals, we can provide
young companies with very effective support for their national and
international expansion and thus significantly accelerate the growth of
startups,' says Ralph Dommermuth, CEO of United Internet AG. 'What’s more,
our online marketing brands, such as AdLINK Media, affilinet and Sedo,
offer excellent opportunities for young companies in the field of online
advertising.'

Both sides were delighted with the possibility to intensify the cooperation
successfully started earlier this year with their joint investment in
leading browser game specialist 'bigpoint' and have great expectations for
the partnership. However, both Samwer and Dommermuth believe that it is the
young founders who are the real beneficiaries of the cooperation: they now
have a new and powerful partner which can pool outstanding competencies in
the field of internet – more so than any other company in Europe.

Interested company founders can present their concepts to the European
Founders Fund at any time via e-mail ([email protected]) or
access further information via the website www.europeanfounders.com.

these sectors and can utilize their tight-knit network of partners to
leverage significant added value for the companies they invest in. The
