Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (NA) holds more than 10 % of the voting rights in
Cumerio NV/SA

Pursuant to the requirements of Belgium law, NA has informed Cumerio today
that NA owns more than 10 % of the voting rights in Cumerio.

These voting rights are the result of share purchases made by NA. Some of
these voting rights are attributable to NA on account of a share purchase
agreement concluded with Cumerio’s former parent company, Umicore SA, after
the disclosure of the take-over bid on 24 June 2007. The share sale by
Umicore SA to NA was carried out regardless of the outcome of the intended
take-over bid.

NA has thus increased its long-term strategic interest in Cumerio to more
than 10 % of the voting shares.
