2007 in the name and on behalf of AXA S.A., 25 Avenue Matignon, 75008
Paris, France, as follows:

On August 1, 2007, the share of AllianceBernstein L.P., 1345 Avenue of the
Americas, New York, NY 10105, USA, has crossed the threshold of 5 % of the
voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907 voting rights).
These voting rights are assigned to AllianceBernstein L.P. according to §
22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 WpHG.

On August 1, 2007, the share of AllianceBernstein Corporation, 1345 Avenue
of the Americas, New York, NY 10105, USA, has crossed the threshold of 5 %
of the voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907 voting
rights). These voting rights are assigned to AllianceBernstein Corporation
according to § 22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction with s. 2 WpHG.

On August 1, 2007, the share of Equitable Holdings LLC, 1290 Avenue of the
Americas, New York, NY 10019, USA, has crossed the threshold of 5 % of the
voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907 voting rights).
These voting rights are assigned to Equitable Holdings LLC according to §
22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction with s. 2 WpHG.

On August 1, 2007, the share of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, 1290
Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019, USA, has crossed the threshold
of 5 % of the voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907
voting rights). These voting rights are assigned to AXA Equitable Life
Insurance Company according to § 22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction with
s. 2 WpHG.

On August 1, 2007, the share of AXA Financial Services, LLC, 1290 Avenue of
the Americas, New York, NY 10019, USA, has crossed the threshold of 5 % of
the voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907 voting
rights). These voting rights are assigned to AXA Financial Services, LLC
according to § 22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction with s. 2 WpHG.

On August 1, 2007, the share of AXA Financial, Inc., 1290 Avenue of the
Americas, New York, NY 10019, USA, has crossed the threshold of 5 % of the
voting rights in BASF AG and amounted to 5.10 % (25.037.907 voting rights).
These voting rights are assigned to AXA Financial, Inc. according to § 22
para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction with s. 2 WpHG.

The share of AXA S.A., 25, Avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris, France, remains
unchanged above 5 % of the voting rights in BASF AG and on August 1, 2007
amounts to 6.42 % (31.485.597 voting rights).These voting rights are
assigned to AXA S.A. according to § 22 para. 1 s. 1 No. 6 in conjunction
with s. 2 WpHG.

which controls AXA Financial Service, LLC; which again controls AXA
Equitable Life Insurance Company; which controls Equitable Holdings LLC;
