PSI Awarded Important Contract in Infrastructure Segment
Video monitoring for major German rail company
PSI has been charged by a major German rail company with providing a video
monitoring system for passenger transportation. By transmitting video
images into the driver’s cab by means of a WLAN, the train drivers will be
put in the position to do the train dispatching independently. This will
result in relevant personnel savings in completing and monitoring the train
dispatching process and is a component of cost-savings programs in the
increasingly competitive rail transportation market.
The volume of the order is 8 million euros. As a result of the short - two
to three quarters - amortization period of the system, PSI expects
additional orders from other railway companies.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own
software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil,
water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, automotive,
mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for
telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and
currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
