ARQUES to appoint Bernd Schell as COO

Starnberg, October 22, 2007 - At its routine meeting on October 22, 2007,
the supervisory board of ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004) will
appoint the longstanding ARQUES manager, Bernd Schell (40), as COO with
effect January 1, 2008. He will succeed Markus Zöllner who will be leaving
the company by mutual agreement after the expiry of his contract for a
sabbatical year for personal reasons.

Bernd Schell is one of the most experienced ARQUES managers who has
successfully restructured two companies for ARQUES since the beginning of
2004. Schell (married with 2 children) has a business degree (Dipl. Kfm,
European Business School Oestrich-Winkel) and an MBA (Glendale/Arizona).
Before joining ARQUES Industries AG, he worked for the management
consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group, for several years focussing in
particular on the restructuring and marketing/sales strategy segments.

ARQUES executive board chairman, Martin Vorderwülbecke: 'We are extremely
pleased to be able to appoint Bernd Schell to the executive board. ARQUES
can thus guarantee continuity in the professional completion of the
restructuring of our portfolio companies. We understand Markus Zöllner’s
decision; ARQUES’ doors will be wide open to him after his sabbatical.'

The ARQUES Industries AG operations department currently comprises
approximately 80 employees who concentrate exclusively on the restructuring
and the business development of the subsidiaries. This business strategy
differentiates ARQUES from the so-called 'private equity' companies.
