strategic investor

Starnberg, April 14, 2008 – ARQUES Industries AG has sold the
high-performance gear manufacturer, Jahnel-Kestermann, to the South Korean
strategist, PSM, Inc., Busan, Korea, and thereby has already successfully
sold the third subsidiary from its portfolio in the current financial year.
The transaction proceeds amount to between EUR 20 and EUR 21 million. This
again underlines that the ARQUES business model is fully intact even during
times of more difficult conditions on the financial markets. As announced,
ARQUES is presently conducting many promising talks regarding further
transactions.

'We will continue our successful strategy: We buy, restructure and sell
companies and thereby earn a lot of money. At the time of the takeover in
2005, Jahnel-Kestermann was economically in a difficult situation. After
only three years ARQUES managed to sell a healthy, growing company to PSM.
Thereby ARQUES, with the employment of a symbolic purchase price, generated
sales proceeds of more than EUR 20 million', said Felix Frohn-Bernau,
executive board member responsible for exits.

In April 2005 ARQUES Industries AG took over the Bochum-based
high-performance gear manufacturer for a symbolic price and averted a
possible company insolvency at the time. The traditional enterprise
supplies customers from the wind energy and shipbuilding segments as well
as the sugar and chocolate industry, among others, with special and series
high-performance gears. In the framework of the restructuring and the
advancement of the company, ARQUES guided Jahnel-Kestermann into a lasting
growth phase and created new jobs. The high-performance gear manufacturer’s
capacities for 2008 are already completely booked, and there is also a
robust inflow of new orders for 2009. ARQUES thus obtained an Enterprise
Value of approximately EUR 40 million for the company. The actual lower
proceeds from the transaction of EUR 20 to EUR 21 million result after
deduction of pensions and bank debts.

The buyer is the stock exchange listed Korean company, PSM, Inc., Busan.
PSM operates in the metal processing segment and is a longstanding supplier
of the Bochum-based gear manufacturer. PSM offers the employees and
management of Jahnel-Kestermann a good environment and excellent growth
opportunities particularly on the Asian markets.

After the sales of Missel and Oxiris in the first quarter, the
Jahnel-Kestermann sale is already the third exit transacted in the current
financial year. ARQUES is expecting a total of five to seven exits in 2008.
