Artio Global Holdings LLC, with its registered office in New York, USA, has
notified us pursuant to section 21 (1) WpHG of the following:

On 27th June 2008 the percentage holding of the voting rights of Artio
Global Holdings LLC in Fresenius SE, Else-Kröner-Straße 1, 61352 Bad
Homburg v.d.H., Germany, exceeded the threshold of 3 % and amounted to
3.645 % (equivalent to 2,831,381 voting rights) in relation to the total
number of voting rights of the issuer.

The voting rights in the amount of 3.645 % (equivalent to 2,831,381 voting
rights) are entirely attributable to Artio Global Holdings LLC pursuant to
sec. 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 6 WpHG in connection with sec. 22 para. 1
sentence 2 WpHG.
