PSI with Record Volume of New Orders in 2nd Quarter
Costs of energy and raw materials accelerate investments by PSI customers

The PSI Group increased its new orders in the 2nd quarter of 2008 by 24 %
to 42 million euros compared to the same quarter of last year (2nd quarter
2007: 34 million euros). The EBIT in the 2nd quarter 2008 increased by 40 %
to about 1.4 million euros (2nd quarter 2007: 1.0 million euros). This is,
as announced, above the EBIT for the first quarter of 2008. In the first
six months, new orders increased by 8 % to 78 million euros (first six
months of 2007: 72 million euros). Adjusted for the sale of the government
business in the middle of 2007 the increase is even 15 %. The EBIT for the
first half of 2008 is, with about 2.7 million euros, 50 % above the value
for the previous year (first six months of 2007: 1.8 million euros).

New orders increased in the 2nd quarter primarily in exports and here in
particular in the segments energy and steel. PSI has started into the
second half of the year with a well-filled sales pipeline and a very good
volume of orders. The high costs of energy and raw materials have led PSI
customers in the segments of energy and heavy industry to continued
investments in expansion and efficiency. Management expects the development
to continue in the second half of the year and will further strengthen
PSI’s growth through acquisitions. As announced, the decision about raising
the annual forecast will be made in the course of the 3rd quarter. PSI will
publish its detailed report for the first six months as planned on 29 July
2008.
