Leipzig, 1st October 2008: After a temporary production stop in Zörbig
plant VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG is restarting production of
bioethanol on 6th October 2008. All employees working on short-time in
September 2008 will readopt their function.

'We are pleased to power up production of bioethanol in Zörbig. In a
generally declining market, the price of bioethanol has stabilised. We are
also benefiting from an increased demand for bioethanol, also due to the
increase in the admixture quota planned for the coming year, and our
flexibility in the use of raw materials.', comments Klaus-Dieter Bettien,
Managing Director of VERBIO Ethanol Zörbig.
