ARQUES Iberia takes over Spanish transport service provider, BPACK

• Merger with ARQUES subsidiary ASM planned
• High synergies and substantial increase in market share
• Sixth acquisition in current financial year 2008

Starnberg, October 8, 2008 - ARQUES Iberia, the Spanish subsidiary of
Starnberg-based ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004), took over the
distribution network of the transport service provider, BPACK, Madrid, for
a symbolic purchase price. ARQUES is hereby actively contributing to the
consolidation of the transportation service sector in Spain. BPACK is to be
merged with the ARQUES subsidiary, ASM, already operating in this sector,
as soon as possible. Both companies specialise in courier, transport and
special logistics services for major customers and were in competition till
now. The takeover of the BPACK network with 150 agents in Spain not only
allows for a substantially larger customer base, but also considerable
synergies and cost savings. By way of the acquisition, ASM revenues
increase by 20% to more than EUR 55 million.

With this transaction ARQUES continues its international expansion strategy
which began in 2006. The takeover of BPACK is the fourth in Spain since.
Currently ARQUES has international business operations in Austria, Spain,
Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain. The number of ARQUES acquisitions
herewith rises to a total of six in the financial year 2008. ARQUES
announced a target of 7 to 10 acquisitions for this financial year in its
half-year report in August.
