Second Innovation Award for GEA: IQ milking cluster is Innovation of the Year 2009

Bönen/Hannover, 20 November 2008 – The 'IQ milking cluster' of GEA Farm
Technologies has been awarded by Deutsche Landwirtschaftsverlag the
'Innovation of the Year 2009' in the category Milking Technology. The award
was passed over during a celebration hour at the exhibition EuroTier 2008
in Hannover.
Members of the jury were for example dlz agrarmagazin,
AGRARTECHNIK, LAND & Forst, Neue Landwirtschaft and Bayerisches
Landwirtschaftliches Wochenblatt.

'This award demonstrates once more our strength meeting the actual customer
demands and setting the right trends.' said Dirk Hejnal, President of GEA
Farm Technologies. The IQ milking cluster of GEA Farm Technologies has
already been awarded the German Agricultural Society (DLG) Silver Medal for
Innovation. It revolutionises milking with the new concept of its four-way
milking unit. The IQ sets new standards thanks to its remarkable adhesion
to the udder, the individual guiding and channelling of the milk, the
convincing milk hygiene and innovative handling.

Besides this success GEA is extremely satisfied with the progress made at
EuroTier 2008. The expectations with regard to the number of visitors and
the interest shown by customers were easily surpassed. 'We can confirm the
positive DLG résumé with regard to EuroTier. This exhibition has gained a
unique status internationally. We were able to greet customers from more
than 35 countries', reported Dirk Hejnal.
GEA WestfaliaSurge GmbH introduced their new 'GEA Farm Technologies' brand
at the exhibition. A completely new exhibition concept that was aimed at
open communications with the customers was presented as a major step
towards becoming a full-range provider under the new brand name. Over
25,000 visitors to the 1,000 m² stand were told about a variety of
innovations that were recently launched by GEA Farm Technologies. An
average of 80 consultants was always present to provide information and
explanations about the various customer solutions.
