Leipzig/Zörbig, 11th December 2008- Martin Meurer, CFO of the VERBIO
Vereinigte BioEnergie AG will resign as member of the management board with
the end of the business year 2008 end of February 2009.

The positive development of VERBIO is based on the successful realisation
of the project 'consolidation- positioning – profit' for what the CFO of
the VERBIO AG, Martin Meurer, was mainly responsible. For the future, Claus
Sauter, founder and CEO of VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG, will be
responsible for the financial department additionally to his present
responsibilities. For the time being the position of the CFO will not be
reoccupied.

The supervisory board thanks Martin Meurer for his excellent work and
wishes him further on much success. Until 30th June, 2009 Martin Meurer
will be consultative available for the VERBIO AG.
