On January 09, 2009, in the name and on behalf of the State of Norway, the
Royal Ministry of Trade and Industry, Oslo / Norway has notified us
pursuant to section 21 para. 1 WpHG that its percentage of voting rights in
E.ON AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, WKN ENAG99, ISIN DE000ENAG999, exceeded the
thresholds of 3% and 5% on December 31, 2008 and amounts to 5.91%
(118,276,492 voting rights) as per this date.

The afore-mentioned voting rights are attributed to the State of Norway as
follows:

4.17% (83,455,839 voting rights) are attributed to the State of Norway
pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no.1 WpHG; thereof, 4.17%
(83,415,119 voting rights) attributed to the State of Norway are directly
held by Statkraft Regional Holding AS and are attributed to the State of
Norway via the following controlled entities:

• Statkraft SF,
• Statkraft AS,
• Statkraft Regional Holding AS.

Further 1.74% (34,720,645 voting rights) are attributed to the State of
Norway pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 1 and no. 2 WpHG.

Further 0.005% (100,008 voting rights) are attributed to the State of
Norway pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 1, no. 2 (in
connection with sentence 2) and no. 6 (in connection with sentence 2) WpHG.
