On 4 March 2009, UBS AG, Zurich, Switzerland, has informed us according to
section 21 para. 1 WpHG that its voting rights on METRO AG, Düsseldorf,
Germany (address: Schlüterstraße 1, 40235 Düsseldorf), ISIN: DE0007257503,
WKN: 725750, have fallen below the 3% limit of the voting rights on 26
February 2009 and amount to 1.21% (this corresponds to 3911409 voting
rights).
According to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG, 1.01% of the voting
rights (this corresponds to 3259150 voting rights) is to be attributed to
UBS AG.
