On 09 March 2009 the Royal Ministry of Finance, Oslo, Norway, in the name
and on behalf of the state of Norway, informed us pursuant sec. 21 para. 1
WpHG that on 04 March 2009 the voting rights of the state of Norway in GEA
Group Aktiengesellschaft, Bochum, Germany, exceeded the threshold of 3% and
amounted to 3,01% (5 541 946 voting rights) on that day.

3,01% (5 541 946 voting rights) of the voting rights are to be attributed
to the state of Norway pursuant sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 1 WpHG. Voting
rights that are to be attributed to the state of Norway are held via Norges
Bank (organization number 937 884 117). Norges Bank (Central Bank of
Norway) is controlled by the state of Norway and whose holdings of voting
rights in GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft amount to 3% or more.
