Muehlhan expands capacity in Denmark

* Lease of a new blasting hall in Esbjerg
* Additional orders in the Offshore and Wind Energy segments expected

Hamburg, 28 April 2009 - Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard; ISIN DE000A0KD0F7)
will soon be expanding its capacity in Denmark. Effective 1 May 2009, the
Danish subsidiary Muehlhan A/S will be moving as the Lessee into a newly
built complex of blasting and coating halls in Esbjerg, which means that
this coastal city will become a new production site for the Muehlhan Group.
The facility covers approximately 2,000 m² and is outfitted with a modern
heat-recovery system and steel-grit recycling equipment.

The facility is located on the grounds of a company that is engaged
primarily in the manufacture of steel components and pipes for the Oil &
Gas Offshore segment. However, the halls were designed to accommodate
jobs from other business segments as well, so in the future Muehlhan also
plans to use the new site for coating steel parts for wind turbines.

The blasting and coating halls will make it possible to carry out work
under constant climatic conditions. Shorter drying times will accelerate
the entire production process while significantly increasing quality and
productivity.

Despite the economic crisis, the global demand for wind turbines will rise
sharply in the years to come. However, 2009 growth will be noticeably
lower, since even in this segment, many developers are having trouble
financing their projects. Nevertheless, all of the major manufacturers
expect to return to double-digit growth as soon as the credit crunch ends.
By expanding its capacity, Muehlhan will be well positioned to take
advantage of this trend.
