Bochum/Copenhagen, June 30, 2009 - The Process Technology Segment of GEA
Group AG has been awarded contracts from Feihe in China, owned by American
Dairy Inc., totaling more than EUR 17 million. GEA Process Engineering will
provide Feihe, one of the leading producers and distributors of dairy
products in China, with infant formula process equipment and process
know-how at the Gannan Feihe and Longjiang Feihe facilities in China. The
Longjiang plant will be capable of producing either 62 tons of whole milk
powder or 100 tons of milk powder for baby food per day. The Gannan dairy
plant will be capable of producing nearly 50 tons whole milk powder or 80
tons of baby food milk powder per day. Both plants are expected to be ready
for production in late 2010.
