* Sebastian Giese new CFO at HMS Bergbau AG
* Experienced specialist strengthens the commercial end
Berlin, July 16, 2009 - Sebastian Giese (33), who holds a degree in
commerce, was appointed CFO of HMS Bergbau AG in mid-July 2009. He is a
certified accountant and tax consultant, and can look back on many years'
experience in auditing annual and consolidated financial statements in line
with national and international standards. Until recently he worked for the
Ernst & Young auditing company, where he was, among other things,
responsible for auditing conglomerates with international operations.
In his function as CFO, Giese will be head of the entire commercial end of
HMS Bergbau AG, a publicly-listed corporation. He will support Heinz
Schernikau, who as company founder was to date the sole Board member and
will now be able to focus even more strongly on the core business of coal
trading. Schernikau has been in this business for over 35 years now and has
extensive international contacts and can rely on long-standing firm
business relationships.
'Sebastian Giese,' Schernikau comments, 'ideally complements our team of
highly-qualified staff. By recruiting him we have taken a great step
forward in restructuring the corporation and can now tackle the next
future-oriented projects.'
