  • Commissioning of the 840 kWp solar power plant after less than 3 months
    of construction
  • Solar power plant supplies more than 250 four-person-households with
    green electricity
  • Guaranteed income for the next 20 years

Hamburg, November 11, 2009: Today COLEXON and the Photovoltaikgesellschaft
Wanzlitz connect the solar power plant with a total capacity of 840 kWp
located on the roof of one of the largest storage halls in
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to the grid. The solar power plant,
comprising an investment volume amounting to approx. 2.5 million euros, was
constructed in less than three months. By investing in this solar project,
the owner of the plant secured a consistent income for the next 20 years.

COLEXON Energy AG, one of the leading developers of large solar power
plants, used a total of 11,200 thin film modules from the manufacturer
First Solar, the international market leader of the innovative thin film
technology. The modules were mounted on a roof area of approximately 9,200
sqm. Due to their cost efficiency and performance advantages, the modules
are predestined for employment in large solar power plants. The
substructure consists of aluminium Z profiles cross-mounted with profiles
from the Schletter company. Two SMA inverters are used to convert DC
electricity into grid-compliant AC.

The inverters generate a total of approx. 773,500 kilowatt hours of
environmentally friendly electricity per year. Hence, the power plant will
cover the energy demand of about 250 four-person households in the region.
The investor receives compensation at a fixed rate of 39.58 eurocent per
kilowatt hour, which potentially equates to a total yield of over 306,000
euros per year. At the same time, approximately 700 tons of CO2 emissions
will be saved annually.
