Salzgitter Aktiengesellschaft, Salzgitter, Germany, informed us in its
notification dated 15 December 2009 pursuant to Sections 21 paragraph 1,
24, German Securities Trading Act that the voting interest of its
subsidiary, Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH, Salzgitter, Germany, in Aurubis AG,
Hamburg, Germany (ISIN: DE0006766504, WKN: 676650), had exceeded the 25 %
threshold on 15 December 2009 and now amounts to 25.260 % (representing
10,323,640 voting rights).

Salzgitter Aktiengesellschaft, Salzgitter, Germany, informed us in its
notification dated 15 December 2009 pursuant to Section § 21 paragraph 1,
German Securities Trading Act that its voting interest in Aurubis AG,
Hamburg, Germany (ISIN: DE0006766504, WKN: 676650), had exceed the
25 % threshold on 15 December 2009 and now amounts to 25.260 %
(representing 10,323,640 voting rights). 25.260 % of the voting rights
(representing 10,323,640 voting rights) are allocated to Salzgitter
Aktiengesellschaft by Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH, in accordance with
Section 22 paragraph 1 sentence 1 no. 1, German Securities Trading Act.

No voting rights are held directly by Salzgitter Aktiengesellschaft.
