Niels Graugaard to continue as Executive Board member until 2013

Bochum, December 18, 2009 - The Supervisory Board of GEA Group
Aktiengesellschaft yesterday extended the appointment of Executive Board
member Mr. Niels Graugaard until July 31, 2013.

'We are very much looking forward to continue the successful cooperation
with him' said Dr. Jürgen Heraeus, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GEA
Group Aktiengesellschaft.

Niels Graugaard, a Danish citizen, has been serving GEA as a Member of the
Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer of the Process Technology
Segment since August 1, 2007. He previously had been President of GEA's
Process Engineering Division since 1999.
