Uns wurde mit Schreiben vom 7. Januar 2010 folgendes mitgeteilt:

On 1 January 2010, the stake of Capital Research and Management Company,
Los Angeles, California, USA in the voting rights in MTU Aero Engines
Holding AG, Dachauer Str. 665, 80995 München, exceeded the threshold of 5
%. On that date, Capital Research and Management Company held 7.71 %
(4,009,949 ordinary shares) in relation to all voting rights in MTU Aero
Engines Holding AG (voting rights arising from 52,000,000 ordinary shares
(Stammaktien)).

Please note, that the threshold of 5 % has only been exceeded due to an
amendment of the proxy voting powers granted to Capital Research and
Management Company by the funds managed by Capital Research and Management
Company. Therefore, 7.71 % (4,009,949 ordinary shares) of all voting rights
in MTU Aero Engines Holding AG (voting rights arising from 52,000,000
ordinary shares) were attributed to Capital Research and Management Company
pursuant to section 22 (1) sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG.
