Pierre-Pascal Urbon, Chief Financial Officer of SMA Solar Technology AG
(SMA), is under preliminary investigation in a private matter. Mr. Urbon
denies the accusations that have been made against him. In the interest of
avoiding any adverse ramifications for SMA, Mr. Urbon has requested a leave
of absence until the proceedings have been brought to a close. At that
time, the Supervisory Board will decide on a further course of action.
Currently, SMA is unable to comment on the subject of the proceedings.
In order to provide evidence that the allegations made against him are
false, Pierre-Pascal Urbon will actively participate and cooperate in the
investigation.
