Bochum, August 26, 2010 - The GEA Group received a large order over EUR 20
million from a renown EPC contractor active in the Middle East for a Heller
dry cooling system. GEA's installation will cool a new gas fired combined
cycle power plant with a capacity of 750 MW. The Heller natural draught
indirect dry cooling system provides a solution for the cooling of large
scale power plants that is ideal with regard to water conservation and
energy saving.

'The Middle East is developing as one of the world's growth regions when it
comes to power production. Besides power production from conventional
sources, the first renewable projects such as solar thermal power plants
are realized now. These projects are located in dry regions and will
operate under extreme environmental conditions that require very robust and
efficient dry cooling systems. Due to our global presence with air cooled
condensers as well as indirect dry cooling systems, we are well positioned
to benefit from this trend' says Jörg Jeliniewski, president of the Segment
GEA Heat Exchangers.

Air Cooled Condensers, Indirect Dry Cooling systems as well as Cooling
Towers and other cooling components from GEA Heat Exchangers are used in
many areas of the power industry, from conventional thermal power plants to
renewable power plants such as geothermal or concentrated solar power
plants.

Already with Q2 results GEA had briefly mentioned the following large order
from Asia for the Segment GEA Process Engineering. In a new turn-key
project Vinamilk, a market leader in the production of dairy products in
Vietnam, has placed an order for the delivery of two full dairy processing
lines for the production of infant formula. The order is worth more than
EUR 30 million and marks Vinamilk's to-date biggest investment in dairy
processing equipment. GEA's business segment GEA Process Engineering will
be delivering the full processing lines and also carry out all utility
installations, the mechanical installation and the start-up of production.
Each of the two processing lines for infant formula will have a capacity of
4 tons per hour. Production of infant formula on the new production lines
is scheduled for start-up in August 2012. The production lines will be
located on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Vietnam.
