Funkwerk AG: IRIS certification completed: Funkwerk today meets quality standards of tomorrow

The quality of vehicles and infrastructure is an issue that has become top
priority throughout the European rail transport sector this year. Now, rail
vehicle manufacturers have joined to define the International Railway
Industry Standard, IRIS for short, and set new standards for the future.
Guaranteeing maximum efficiency and reliability, the certification of
management systems according to IRIS will soon be mandatory for all
suppliers. Products and system solutions made by Funkwerk already meet
these requirements.

a leading light again in this quality offensive. We have already completed
the IRIS certification for our quality management system. This enables us
to prove right away in new tenders that we deliver the required quality,
which is yet another plus in international business,' explained Dr. Hans

IRIS certification benefits Funkwerk customers

The specialist in professional communication systems had begun the
certification process back in early 2009 by implementing a set of specific
criteria.

As a result of successful certification and award of the IRIS certificate,
Funkwerk's products and system solutions are gaining in acceptance among
railway companies and infrastructure manufacturers. The IRIS quality
standard is now recognised and required worldwide. IRIS certification
therefore increases the prospect of future contracts specifically opposite
non-certified companies. Along with this competitive factor, Funkwerk has
further increased its efficiency by meeting the IRIS quality criteria.
Funkwerk will continuously improve its management systems, which will be
attested in further monitoring and certification audits.
