Chief Executive Officer, Dr Bernd Drouven, leaves Aurubis at the end of the
calendar year

Hamburg, 6 May 2011 - Dr Bernd Drouven, Chief Executive Officer of Aurubis
AG, is resigning from the company's Executive Board at his own request when
his current contract expires on 31 December 2011.

The Supervisory Board and the Chief Executive Officer have an understanding
that Dr Drouven will continue to perform his Executive Board
responsibilities in full until the end of the calendar year.
