Release of an announcement according to Article 21, para. 1 and Article 22
of the WpHG
according to Article 26, para. 1 of the WpHG

The Freistaat Thüringen, represented by the Thüringer Finanzministerium,
Erfurt, Germany, has informed us on July 4, 2011 that its share of voting
rights in JENOPTIK AG increased above the thresholds of 3%, 5% and 10% on
June 30, 2011. At this day, the Freistaat Thüringen held 11.00 % of the
voting rights (6,296,193 shares).
11.00% of the voting rights (6,296,193 shares) were attributable to the
Freistaat Thüringen pursuant to § 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG in
connection with § 22 para. 1 sent. 2 WpHG through Thüringer
Industriebeteiligungs GmbH & Co.KG.
