Today, the Supervisory Board of METRO AG elected Mr Franz Markus Haniel to
chair the Supervisory Board. In addition, the Supervisory Board has
appointed Mr Olaf Koch, currently CFO, as the new Chairman of the
Management Board effective from 1 January 2012. The current Chairman of the
Management Board, Dr Eckhard Cordes, announced on 9 October 2011 that he
did not wish to extend his contract. He shall leave the company effective
31 December 2011.
