Notifications of voting rights pursuant to §§ 21 para 1, 25 para 1 and 25 a
WpHG

1. On May 13, 2013 we received the following notification pursuant to § 21
   para 1 WpHG:

On May 8, 2013, the percentage holding of the voting rights of Commerzbank
Aktiengesellschaft, Frankfurt, Germany, in BASF SE fell below the threshold
of 3 % and amounts to 0.10 % (962701 voting rights) on that day. 0.10 % of
these voting rights (926794 voting rights) are attributed to Commerzbank
Aktiengesellschaft pursuant to § 22 para 1 sentence 1 no. 6 WpHG.

1. On May 13, 2013 we received the following notification pursuant to § 25
   para 1 WpHG:

On May 8, 2013, the percentage holding of the voting rights of Commerzbank
Aktiengesellschaft, Frankfurt, Germany, in BASF SE fell below the threshold
of 5% and amounts to 0 % (0 voting rights) on that day. Thereof, 0 % (0
voting rights) are instruments pursuant to § 25 WpHG and 0.10 % (962701
voting rights) are voting rights pursuant to §§ 21 and 22 WpHG.

1. On May 13, 2013 we received the following notification pursuant to § 25
   a WpHG:

On May 8, 2013, the percentage holding of the voting rights of Commerzbank
Aktiengesellschaft, Frankfurt, Germany, in BASF SE fell below the threshold
of 5 % and amounts to 1.97% (18112501 voting rights) on that day. Thereof,
1.87 % (17149800 voting rights) are instruments pursuant to § 25 a WpHG, 0
% (0 voting rights) are instruments pursuant to § 25 WpHG and 0.10 %
(962701 voting rights) are voting rights pursuant to §§ 21 and 22 WpHG.
