AURELIUS sells DFA Transport und Logistik

Munich, December 17, 2013 – The Munich-based AURELIUS Group (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8) is selling its DFA Transport und Logistik subsidiary to the management team headed by managing director Michael Hulm. In line with the AURELIUS business philosophy, the company was acquired in 2006 for a price well below its intrinsic value. Based in Ronneburg, Thuringia, DFA has performed well in the six years it has belonged to the AURELIUS Group. AURELIUS has made DFA fit for the future together with its workforce by applying efficient cost management and carrying out a strategic realignment of the business areas. The growth policy currently applied will be systematically continued following the acquisition by the successful management team. The parties have agreed not to reveal the purchase price.

DFA – Transport und Logistik GmbH, with its core business in logistics and transportation services, today also has operations in the fields of street and construction site services, maintenance of commercial and passenger vehicles, long-distance haulage and heavy haulage. ‘We’re delighted to have reached this agreement with our parent, AURELIUS,’ says Michael Hulm, who has been managing director of DFA since 2007. ‘We the new owners of DFA know the company better than anyone else. With the support of AURELIUS, we have successfully reorganized DFA. Together, we have succeeded in setting up the company optimally for the future.’ DFA has acquired many new customers over recent years. Among other things, two major, long-term framework agreements have been concluded in the region. The company has also succeeded in expanding its nationwide activities alongside its stable regional business, with the greater Stuttgart area forming the focal point. Capacity utilization, profit margin and workforce have all increased sharply.

AURELIUS is selling its smallest current subsidiary in the form of DFA Transport und Logistik GmbH. Over the coming weeks, AURELIUS expects to be able to announce further company acquisitions and disposals.
