AURELIUS buys Individual Desktop Services from T-Systems

  • Acquisition of IDS GmbH with revenues of EUR 80 million
  • IDS to become part of the AURELIUS IT activity with Getronics
  • Greater strategic cooperation between Getronics and T-Systems
  • Reinforcement of AURELIUS’s ICT activities

Munich, April 8, 2014 – The Munich-based AURELIUS Group (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8) is set to acquire Individual Desktop Solutions GmbH (IDS), a subsidiary of T-Systems International. IDS concentrates on on-site desktop services and solutions for respected business customers of T-Systems in Germany. In 2013, 630 employees working at 36 locations in Germany and also directly on-site with customers generated revenues of around EUR 80 million. IDS boasts a strong customer base across all sectors of industry, including a number of DAX-listed companies, and public-sector institutions. The associated expansion of the strategic cooperation with T-Systems in the field of desktop lifecycle management coupled with well trained staff will serve to perfectly complement the existing business in the information and communications technology (ICT) segment of AURELIUS/Getronics in Germany. The parties have agreed not to reveal the purchase price. The transaction, which is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities, is scheduled for completion by mid-2014.

“The acquisition of IDS is a big step for AURELIUS in the ICT market. IDS will be part of our IT activity built around the Getronics Group from the outset, which will enable us to strengthen our ICT operations in the German market in particular,” says Dr. Dirk Markus, CEO of AURELIUS. “By collaborating with T-Systems, we will benefit greatly from their technology leadership and outstanding sales structure,” Markus continues. Besides boosting revenues from desktop solutions activities with third party customers, the aim is to evolve the business towards higher value and higher margin services, with IDS focusing specifically on trends like cloud solutions and virtual workplaces in the future.

The services provided by IDS are set to remain an important part of the overall T-Systems International portfolio going forward as a result of the close partnership. “We have found a reliable transaction partner for our IDS subsidiary in the form of the AURELIUS Group and a strong operating partner in the form of Getronics. We’re looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship and continuing to serve highly satisfied customers together,” states Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, Managing Director, Delivery, T-Systems.

Dr. Christian Schmehl, Managing Director of the Getronics Group, comments: “IDS will become a valuable member of the Getronics family. The company will help us become a leading independent service provider in the field of desktop lifecycle management in Germany and expand our business with the public sector and industry.”

Today, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 3:30 pm CET the Executive Board of AURELIUS will conduct a telephone conference for interested investors and members of the press. To sign-up, please send an email to [email protected] .
