SURTECO optimizes production network in North America

Buttenwiesen-Pfaffenhofen, 2 February 2015 – SURTECO SE – one of the leading manufacturers of decorative surface materials – has taken a further step towards simplifying its corporate structure within the framework of its long-term strategy. The impregnating plant located in Biscoe/USA was taken over by SURTECO when the Süddekor Group was acquired at the end of 2013 and this facility has now been sold to wood-based materials manufacturer Arauco North America in the course of this restructuring. In future, SURTECO will concentrate its production activities for impregnates in North America at its location in East Longmeadow/USA where capacity has already been expanded.

This step will enable SURTECO to continue its goal of continuous improvement in the internal processes directed towards cost reduction and optimising the utilisation of capacities.

SURTECO SE, Buttenwiesen-Pfaffenhofen, is a leading international specialist for surface technologies. The product portfolio includes papers printed with decorative designs, impregnated products, release paers, decorative flat foils and edgebandings based on specialist papers for technical applications and plastics.
