MPC Capital Establishes New Player STAYTOO in the Micro Living Segment
– STAYTOO as brand for student housing projects
– Student housing development guided by concepts of individuality, community, and affordability
– First project: a development in Nuremberg
Hamburg, 12 March 2015 – Asset and investment manager MPC Capital AG will develop and operate student housing projects under the brand STAYTOO ( www.staytoo.de ). This was announced by Rainer Nonnengässer, Head of the Micro Living division of MPC Capital, on occasion of the event “Student Housing Investment Briefing” at this year’s MIPIM real estate fair in Cannes. Nonnengässer, who is considered one of Germany’s most eminent minds in the field of student housing, is planning to establish MPC Capital on the market as player in the area of micro living with an emphasis on student housing. In order to position itself at the head of the field, MPC Capital expects to continue the expansion of the joint venture with the Danish property investor Sparinvest Property Investors that was set up in July 2014, and keep developing the jointly formed student apartment platform.
“There are nearly 2.7 million university students in Germany today. Most of them crave a type of accommodation that combines individuality, community and affordability. So this is the value-add formula underlying the approach we take to align our student apartment platform with the actual needs of students. Students want to have the choice of studying and living either on their own or together with others, and want to be able to make that choice any time. STAYTOO picks up on this philosophy, and implements it in optimal ways when creating student accommodation,” said Rainer Nonnengässer. MPC Capital sees its products as an up-to-date alternative to flatshares and halls of residence.
One of the first STAYTOO projects is located in Nuremberg where the company recently acquired a centrally located plot. The plan is to create high-quality, affordable student accommodation that combines the aspects of studying, working and living in a single place, and construction work will start this summer. STAYTOO properties are characterised by modern flats that leave plenty of room for personal lifestyle choices. At the same time, common-part areas for studying, hanging out and lounging make social contact among fellow students an option any time.
