MPC Capital starts second micro living project in Berlin

Hamburg/Berlin, July 20, 2016 – Hamburg based asset and investment manager MPC Capital is planning a second project in Berlin for its micro living platform STAYTOO ( www.staytoo.de ). MPC Capital acquired an office building on a 1,231 sqm site in Leibnizstrasse in the district of Berlin-Charlottenburg. The conversion of the existing property starts this year and shall be completed in spring 2018. The area of the new STAYTOO site offers both a number of academic institutions, including TU Berlin and the Berlin University of Arts, as well as major employers such as Siemens, Beiersdorf and Deutsche Telekom.

“Located in the Charlottenburg district, our new project is not only suitable for student accommodation but also for business apartments,” commented Rainer Nonnengässer, Head of Micro Living at MPC Capital. “Our STAYTOO concept consolidates flexible options for use meeting a range of demands for compact living solutions.”

With the acquisition of the sixth project of the STAYTOO platform, funds of the Special AIF* “MPC Student Housing Venture I” have been almost fully invested. “With room for another one or two projects, our first institutional micro living fund will then have fully invested its capital in the development of micro apartments”, Nonnengässer stated.

Currently five more STAYTOO projects in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Nuremberg, Bonn, Kaiserslautern and Leipzig, totaling almost 1,000 apartments, were started. Bonn and Nuremberg are the first STAYTOO apartment locations to open in autumn 2016.
