Bremen-based project developer signs another contract on its path to success
With the Grevenbroich repowering project, Energiekontor chalks up another wind farm sale in North Rhine-Westphalia
Bremen, 10 August 2016 . Barely a month after signing the contract for the Breitendeich project, Energiekontor AG is to sell its third repowering project at Grevenbroich to Capital Stage AG, thereby underlining its successful cooperation with the SDAX-listed solar park and wind farm operator based in Hamburg.
By repowering the wind farm near the city of Grevenbroich, Energiekontor will replace eight legacy wind turbines with a rated power of 0.6 or 1.0 MW with three new turbines offering a total rated power of 7.5 MW. With a hub height and rotor diameter of 120 metres for each turbine, the total expected annual output of the repowered wind farm will be about 30 million kWh. In theory, this volume of electricity would be enough to supply over 7,500 households with green power. Commissioning for the wind farm is planned before the end of the year.
