Delivery Hero and Starship Technologies launch robot food delivery in Europe (news with additional features)

European pilot program for food delivery using a fleet of robots, complementing Delivery Hero’s existing zero emissions delivery

Delivery Hero Group (“Delivery Hero”), the leading global online food ordering and delivery marketplace, and Starship Technologies , a company building a fleet of robots designed to deliver goods, today announced the launch of a robot food delivery pilot program in Europe. The program will be operated by Delivery Hero under the brand foodora and rolled-out in Hamburg today.

foodora’s signature pink bikes can be seen in the streets of over 50 high-density urban areas across Europe, Canada and Australia. The food delivery through robots will complement these zero emissions delivery methods.

In order to increase customer convenience, Starship aims to deliver all food orders within 15-30 minutes. Specially designed insulation inside the robot will ensure that the food remains well presented and hot.
