New Service Company for Wind Power Plants:

The Muehlhan Group is extending its range of services for the wind energy sector

Hamburg, 12 May 2017 – The Muehlhan Group is setting up, in collaboration with experienced specialists in the industry, a company dedicated to the servicing of offshore wind turbines, based in Middelfart, Danmark. The Muehlhan Group is to have a 51% stake in Muehlhan Wind Service A/S, with the remaining shares in the hands of the newly founded company’s management team.

Muehlhan Wind Service A/S will offer the wind energy industry a full set of services from a single source; ranging from surface treatment, onshore pre-installation and assembly to offshore installation and ongoing maintenance of equipment located off the coast. Muehlhan Wind Service A/S will also deal with the eventual decommissioning of the systems concerned.

“Muehlhan Wind Service is set to strengthen our position in the wind energy sector”, emphasizes Stefan Müller-Arends, Chairman of the Executive Board of Muehlhan AG. “This specialization will allow us to speak directly to the companies concerned in the wind power market, while offering ourselves as a partner for a whole range of services. Our decades of experience in other industries can be redirected to meet many of the needs of the offshore energy sector”, Mr. Müller-Arends continues.

“We can now likewise offer our outstanding range of services to equipment suppliers and operators of wind farms along the entire value-added chain,” adds Jens Mørk, Chairman of the Executive Board of Muehlhan Wind Services A/S.

This newly founded company will also generate synergy within the Muehlhan Group. “The new company gives us access to offshore-related know-how that we can apply to other areas, and also vice versa – as Muehlhan Wind Service A/S benefits from expertise in other areas”, says Mr. Müller-Arends, explaining the advantages of this corporate expansion.

Muehlhan Wind Service A/S will initially concentrate on the European market, albeit with medium-term plans to expand into growing markets such as those of Asia and the United States.
