freenet AG: Prof Dr Helmut Thoma elected Chairman of the new Supervisory Board of freenet AG
Büdelsdorf, 2 June 2017 – Following the ordinary general shareholders’ meeting of 1 June 2017, the Supervisory Board of freenet AG elected Prof Dr Helmut Thoma from its members as the new Chairman for a term of five years. The independent media consultant thereby relieves Dr Hartmut Schenk, who is leaving the board. The entrepreneur Fränzi Kühne is a new member of the Supervisory Board.
The media consultant and proven TV expert, Prof Dr Helmut Thoma, who has been associated with freenet AG for many years already, was elected the Chairman of the company’s Supervisory Board for the term until the ordinary shareholders’ meeting will convene again in 2022.
Since the plans to enter the TV business have been devised by freenet AG, Prof Dr Thoma has significantly contributed to shaping and attending to this strategically important business field. With his know-how and contacts, he will push ahead this project further together with the Executive Board also in the coming years.
Fränzi Kühne, founder and CEO of Torben, Lucie und die gelbe Gefahr GmbH, Berlin, is added to the Supervisory Board effective immediately and she will contribute her knowledge in the area of digitalisation.
