This announcement is made to highlight to the market that abrdn Equity Income Trust plc ("the Company") has authority to issue shares at a premium to net asset value as set out in the Company's Annual Report to 30 September 2022 and previously announced, and up to the amount specified in the authority approved by shareholders at the Company's AGM on 2 February 2023.  Any interest in such issuance should be coordinated through to JPMorgan Securities PLC. There can however be no certainty that the company will issue shares pursuant to this authority.
