SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES receives follow-on order for medical technology – another processing plant for processing of contact lenses ordered

Kahl am Main, 13 June 2018 – SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG (SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES) has signed a contract to supply a further processing plant for the manufacture of contact lenses. The successful entry of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES into medical technology last year signalled a strategically important broadening of its portfolio.

The new contract, which follows on from the first order last November with a volume of more than ten million euros, further cements the position of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES in the increasingly important market of medical technology. All systems ordered will be supplied to an internationally active company in the medical sector.

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES has been working together with that customer on development projects for some time now, and has developed a new processing system for the manufacture of contact lenses. The new “MEDLINE Clean” system cleans residual material from contact lenses and then coats the lenses in a further process step. The production system is modular in design and can be used for a wide range of applications, including beyond ophthalmics. Medical products with a wide range of formats can be processed.

For medical technology, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES offers machine technology for wet-chemical processes and vacuum coating processes as well as injection-molding of small plastic parts where high precision and extremely high quality are required. A common trait of all processes is the basic principle of efficient, low-resource production technology.

These core competencies comprise coating technology, surface processing, wet-chemical applications as well as thermal processing steps.
