Aladdin Blockchain Technologies Holding SE: Aladdin to open source its Hyperledger Fabric Development Kit – Maejor. (news with additional features)

Aladdin’s initial blockchain project (Genesis), is based on the Blockchain technology known as Hyperledger Fabric (Fabric). Fabric is a highly modular architecture with a substantial number of subsystems. To make Fabric suitable for a particular Blockchain use case, such as medical record audit trail, it is necessary to assemble the subsystems using specific methods.

This is a cumbersome process and Fabric, which is open source, does not provide tools to do this out-of-the-box. To support Aladdin’s first blockchain project, development effort and to make the development process efficient and scalable, Aladdin has made an investment to extend the out-of-the-box tools. The goal of the tool (Maejor) is to enable developers to spin-up blockchain configurations suitable for any use case with ease.

Maejor has come to the attention of a workshop, sponsored by a Hong Kong government agency known as CyberPort https://www.cyberport.hk/en , to train Hyperledger Fabric developers. As a result of this, Aladdin has decided to make this tool open source and to send a lead member of the team to facilitate a workshop on the 27 th and 28 th August 2018.

Aladdin looks to significantly enhance its reputation within the industry as a result of open sourcing its tools. As a company this puts Aladdin on the cutting-edge of technology and open sourcing the development kit will result in a vast peer review process that engenders trust within the blockchain community.
