Transactions in own shares

The Company announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 25 pence each from Peel Hunt LLP, in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the Company's annual general meeting on 28 June 2022 and as part of its share repurchase programme of up to 1,468,393 ordinary shares of 25 pence each, announced on 7 November 2022.

In accordance with Rule 2.9 of the Takeover Code, following the above transaction, the Company confirms that it holds no ordinary shares in treasury and has 851,958,774 ordinary shares of 25p each in issue. This is the figure which should be used by shareholders as the denominator when determining whether they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
