KIKIS KAZAMIAS CV

Kikis Kazamias was born in 1951 in Lefkoniko, Famagusta. He studied at the Berlin School of Economics and received an MSc in Economics, specializing in International Trade and International Economic Relations.

In 1976 he returned to Cyprus and worked as head of a department within a large financial organization in Limassol. In 1984 he resigned and took over the management of his family trade business.

Since 1997 he has held the position of General Manager of the Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank, the largest Cooperative Financial Institution in Cyprus. He resigned as Minister of the Republic in 2003.

In 1991 he was elected Member of Parliament and, and was re-elected in 1996. In 2001, after completing two terms, he decided not re-run for his seat.

For 10 years he was a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budgeting. He was also a member on the Committee on Commerce, Energy and Tourism and a member on the Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Committee of the Parliament.

In December 2001, he was elected Mayor of Famagusta. He resigned as Mayor in February 2003, when the President of the Republic of Cyprus appointed him as Minister of Transport, Communications and Works. Kikis Kazamias resigned in April 2004 by his own volition.

From November 2004 for a six-year term, he served as a member of the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg, representing Cyprus, until he when he returned to Cyprus in 2010.

At the beginning of August 2011, he was appointed by the President of the Republic as Minister of Finance. He resigned in March 2012 due to health reasons.

From 2016 until 2020, Kikis Kazamias served as the first Chairman of the Board of the German Oncology Center in Limassol, where he continues to be a board member since. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of various subsidiary companies of Greenwich Holdings Ltd as well as subsidiary companies in Trust International Company (Cyprus) Ltd.
