A monthly record was reached at Copenhagen Airport in June with 2,152,383
passengers. During the first six months of the year, close to 11 million
passengers have travelled through Scandinavia's largest airport, representing a
9.2% increase over last year.
The number of international passengers increased by 4.2% in June to 1,939,588,
domestic traffic fell by 7.4% to 212.795, and the number of transfer passengers
was down by 9.4% compared with June 2010. The summer of 2010 was the busiest
ever at Copenhagen Airport. There are signs that 2011 will be even busier.
“With 60,000 more passengers than in June of last year we are set to beat the
record from 2010, when 6.4 million passengers used Copenhagen Airport during
the three summer months,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales and Marketing for
Copenhagen Airports.
During the first six months of the year, the airport handled close to 126,000
flight departures and arrivals. London remains the biggest destination with
794,000 passengers. New on the Top 10 list of destinations is Reykjavik,
Iceland, which came in number ten on the list with a growth rate of 17.3%.
