Eerste kwartaal 2011 Trading Update

Gang van zaken eerste kwartaal 2011

Amsterdam Commodities (Acomo) meldt dat de activiteiten zich in het eerste kwartaal van 2011 positief hebben ontwikkeld. De handel bleef actief en de prijzen van de meeste grondstoffen bleven op hoog niveau. Alle activiteiten van de Groep waren winstgevend en in lijn met de gunstige trend van het vierde kwartaal 2010.

Markttechnisch gezien is er sprake van toenemende nervositeit ten aanzien van de hoge grondstoffenprijzen. Grote waakzaamheid is derhalve geboden. De volatiele ontwikkeling van de koers van de Amerikaanse dollar ten opzichte van de euro is een ander aandachtspunt.

De ontwikkelingen in het eerste kwartaal 2011 geven vertrouwen, na een uitstekend jaar 2010 en in aanmerking nemend dat in 2011 de activiteiten die in 2010 werden overgenomen voor een volledig jaar zullen bijdragen aan de resultaten. Gunstige marktomstandigheden zijn evenwel geen permanent gegeven en het is te vroeg om een uitspraak te doen over de verdere ontwikkelingen van de markten in 2011, en dus over de resultaten van de Groep. Desalniettemin hebben wij vertrouwen in onze talentvolle teams om onder alle marktomstandigheden positieve resultaten te blijven realiseren en de activiteiten van de Groep verder te blijven ontwikkelen.

First quarter 2011 Trading Update

Current business first quarter 2011

Amsterdam Commodities (Acomo) reports that the activities in the first quarter 2011 continued to develop positively. Trading was very active and the prices of most commodities remained high. All the activities of the Group were profitable and in line with the favorable trend of the fourth quarter 2010.

Markets are increasingly nervous as a result of the high commodity prices and we must remain very alert. An additional point of attention is the volatile development of the US dollar exchange rate against the euro.

The first quarter 2011 developments allow for some optimism, after an excellent year 2010 and with the knowledge that the subsidiaries that were acquired in 2010 will contribute a full year to the results. Continued favorable market circumstances are, however, never a certainty. We cannot forecast the further development of the markets and the results of the Group in 2011. We are, however, confident that all activities of the Group will continue to generate profitable results and that our talented teams will continue to develop the business in all market circumstances.
