Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust plc (the "Company") announces that its name changed, with effect from 6 April 2022, to abrdn Equity Income Trust plc.

The Company's shares will trade under the new name on the London Stock Exchange from 8.00 am on 8 April 2022.

The Company's London Stock Exchange mnemonic (TDIM) will change to AEI from ASEI with effect from 8 April 2022. The ISIN, SEDOL and LEI remain unchanged. Shareholders are unaffected by the change of name and existing share certificates should be retained and will remain valid.

The Company's website address will shortly be amended to www.abrdnequityincome.com
