Directorate changes

DS Smith Plc today announces that Rupert Soames has informed the Company that he plans to retire from the Board at the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting on 6 September 2022. Rupert will hand over his Senior Independent Director duties to David Robbie as from 28 February 2022.

Commenting on Rupert's retirement and David's additional role, Geoff Drabble, Chair, said:

"On behalf of the Board and the Company, I would like to thank Rupert for his great contribution and commitment to the Board and the Company and wish him continued success in the future. His tireless work in completion of the recent Chair succession process and his subsequent assistance in my integration into the role have been invaluable.

I am also pleased to announce David's appointment as Senior Independent Director, a role in which I am sure he will excel given his already considerable contribution as Audit Committee Chair".
